DSL Unknown error: Outlook Express

If you are receiving an unknown error while using Outlook Express on a DSL connection where the error details appear as follows (the clue being is the Port Number is 0)

  Configuration:
  Protocol: NNTP
  Port: 0
  Secure(SSL): 0
  Code: 8000400

The fix is that you need to set Outlook Express to use any available connection. While Outlook Express is open, right click on the news server having the problem. Select properties, then the connection tab. Uncheck the option saying "Always connect to this account using"
