Post not appearing

If you attempt a post and do not receive an error, but the post never appears in the newsgroup the most likely cause is that the target group is missing from one of the servers in the feeding chain. Please submit the following to the news administrators;
the server you were posting from,
your userid, and
the group you're trying to post to.
Posting problem report form

If you're posting to a moderated newsgroup, the post will not appear until it has been approved by the moderator. If the moderator rejects the post it will not be propagated. In this case you should review the group's charter to determine if you're posting within the guidelines. Another possiblity is that the group's status is not correct e.g. it should be moderated but isn't. Please report this as above.

Binary posts to non-binary groups are not accepted. The filtering is done at the exchange/distribution servers, therefore the policy is applied to the entire news stream (both locally posted articles, and those arriving from our Usenet peers).

You should also be advised that if you are using news.sbcglobal.net it is a read-only, text-only server with a limited set of groups. If you want to be able to post you'll need to use one of the regular servers. Please see How to setup newsgroups

Lastly, if your posts aren't showing up, it's possible you're a spammer (whether you know it or not), and the spamming has been detected and your ability to post has been turned off. If this has happened the abuse department should have already notified you of the situation or they will be contacting you.
