A 480 error means that we could not identify your username based on theIP address assigned by the Network Access Server you're dialing. This couldbe temporary, or a change in the NAS that means you'll have to configure your news client to login. Setting your news client to login is fairlystraightforward, and allows you to use any network connection to access thenews servers. Since we will eventually be requiring all users to authenticate,you can set your client now and not have to change again.Please see the following;- Outlook Express.
Open Outlook Express, right click on news.prodigy.net in the folder list.Select properties, then the server tab. Check the box for "This server requiresme to login." Fill in your username and password (your username is yourcomplete, primary email address, and the password is your current networklogon password). Netscape does not provide a way to save the username and passworduntil version 6.0 and above. Open Free Agent. Select Options on the toolbar, then General preferences, then the user tab. Check the option that says "Server requires authorization login."
